What’s for dinner tonight? Do your kids ask that question every day too? As a mom, trying to decide what meals to serve each night can sometimes feel like a huge feat.
That’s why I decided to get organized and start planning my family’s weekly menu in advance. By using a printable meal planner, I can arrange our daily meals and keep track of the grocery items needed each week.
Plus, the weekly meal planner template allows my kids an easy way of seeing what’s for dinner each night. As a mom of two, I know the struggle of balancing work, errands, soccer practices, and the never-ending mountain of laundry.
That’s why I decided to create these time-saving meal planner templates that you can download for free below!
I created several different meal planner templates to meet the needs of families. Each template also comes in various color options, so you can choose the one that appeals to you.
Plus, you can access my editable meal planner at the bottom of this post. The editable version is completely free to download as well.
My first weekly meal planner comes in landscape format and features space for you to jot down your meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. This was the original template I used because it offers plenty of space for each meal.
I then moved on to this next meal planner that is in portrait orientation. I created lines in each day’s box to include meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. And, I added a shopping list section to this printable.
As my kids got older, I stopped planning four meals a day and started focusing mainly on dinner. This third weekly meal template features space to write your meal ideas for each day of the week.
It continues to incorporate a shopping list section, and I added a notes box. This is where I write down meal requests or changes I would make the next time. When I plan to incorporate leftovers into a meal, I may make a note of that here as well.
Finally, I created a monthly meal planner for those families who are organized enough to plan their meals far in advance. This template offers plenty of space for you to jot down your meal ideas for the entire month.
In addition to the meal templates, you may also want to check out my printable grocery lists. These feature master lists with common items listed. Plus, you’ll find blank grocery checklists to organize your shopping needs.
You can access the free meal planners here to choose the style you like best. Feel free to download all of the templates or pick and choose your favorite design.
All of the templates come in PDF format and are easy to print on regular letter size paper. If you plan to re-use your template, I suggest placing it inside a plastic sheet protector. This way you can use dry erase markers to easily write and erase your weekly menu.
Additionally, you can access the editable version by filling out the form above. You’ll receive a free copy of the meal planners pictured above with instructions on how to edit each page.
I hope the printable templates help save you time and stress when planning your weekly meals. They’re a really great way to organize dinner ideas and shopping lists. Plus, your kids can easily refer to the menu each day when they’re wondering what’s for dinner!
